SOLAR MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

DENVER, CO – Fulltime Position

 

Job Description

As a Solar Operations & Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in performing a variety of operations and maintenance tasks at large utility scale solar photovoltaic sites. Your responsibilities will include preventive and corrective maintenance, equipment monitoring, and on-site operation of various photovoltaic system components such as inverters, trackers, weather monitoring equipment, SCADA systems, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety standards and procedures set by Detach Reset Solar
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance activities, including inspections, cleaning, torque checks, thermography, and equipment checks to ensure safe and reliable operation
  • Troubleshoot low voltage issues as they arise
  • Assist qualified technicians in troubleshooting medium and high voltage issues
  • Conduct entry-level corrective maintenance repairs in a safe and professional manner
  • Thoroughly document all work performed using provided checklists, service reports, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
  • Perform all site activities in compliance with environmental permits, equipment warranty requirements, training plans, and schedules
  • Ensure proper maintenance, storage, and use of assigned vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Comply with departmental procedures and reporting requirements
  • Initiate equipment warranty claims
  • Complete required administrative activities within specified deadlines (time sheets, expense reports, service reports, incident reports, etc.)
  • Fulfill any other duties assigned by the company

Qualifications
  • Experience in solar photovoltaic plant operations and maintenance preferred
  • Electrician or electrical technician experience and/or training
  • Hands-on experience in testing, analyzing, conducting preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting photovoltaic inverter systems, data acquisition systems, and other PV power plant components
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Detailed knowledge of solar industry best practices, national electric code (NEC) requirements, and common solar equipment diagnosis/repair
  • Experience with SCADA systems for monitoring and troubleshooting
